More embellisher play

I wanted to try making a little landscape by laying down yarns and 'couching' them on the embellisher - which I suppose is invisible couching?

Anyway, here is my first attempt at this style - I think I like it - what do you think?

Like it, too. Especially the soft tones. Makes it look a little bit misty.

I love it. I'm still getting used to needle felting. I'm using a needle felting foot on my sewing machine to create pieces. May I ask what type of backing you used (or do you!)for this piece? I love the way the layers are still evident. Did you embellish only in a straight line over the yarn?

Thanks Susan - I used a piece of black commercial felt -nothing special, but I wanted black, as I knew there would still be gaps here and there between the rows of yarn. Yes, I just laid them down in rows and ran the embellisher over. I suppose I could add extra hand stitching or embellishment, but I quite like it as it is!

Yes, I like this one very much, but I think adding more stitching would spoil that lovely misty effect.
